Staff of New Hope Church

Ray A. Seilhamer - Senior Pastor

Pastor Ray A. Seilhamer came to New Hope Church as senior pastor in September 2004. He gives 20 plus hours a week to the church and is responsible for worship, preaching, administration, counseling, discipleship and leadership formation plus casting vision. Pastor Seilhamer also serves part-time at Huntington University as the Dean of Christian Ministries at the Graduate School. He is a graduate from Huntington University, Huntington University Theological Seminary, Princeton Theological Seminary and Christian Theological Seminary. He has also done graduate work at Temple University.

 

Lynn Mefferd - Minister of Congregational Care

A graduate of Huntington College '65 and Huntington College Theological Seminary '68. Has done graduate studies in missions at Fuller Theological Seminary, School of World Missions.

He has served as a pastor for 33 years and as a missionary in Sierra Leone, West Africa for 10 years. He has been at New Hope UB Church since September 2004 serving as Minister of Congregational Care. He is married to his wife Betty, and they have three married daughters and 10 grandchildren.

 

Barbara Hilterbrand - Secretary

Barbara became the part-time secretary for New Hope Church in September, 2004. Her office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon. Barbara is the mother of three children, Jeff a Junior at Huntington North High School, lives at home with her. Tim, Barbara's husband, was a chaplain's assistant in the Army and died with a critical illness in July, 2004.

 

 

Marcela and Andrew Wust-Youth Directors and Children Directors

Began their employment at the New Hope Church in January, 2007 as Directors of Children and Youth Ministries. Andrew (Andy) is a junior at Huntington University and is a varsity player on the soccer team.  He spent his high school years in the country of Honduras where his parents were missionaries. Andrew is majoring in youth ministry. Marcela Wust is also from Honduras and will graduate this spring from Moody Bible Institute with a major in youth ministry.  She was a resident advisor at Moody and has served as a counselor at Caris Pregnancy Clinics in Chicago, Illinois. Marcela did her Internship in Youth Ministry at the Good Shepherd United Brethren, Huntington, Indiana.  One of her passions is working with young girls.
